Good Luck Woody and Mark
« on: June 01, 2010, 10:00:43 AM »
I just wanted to wish David Woody (Team Stonefly) and Mark Hanes (Team TroutLegend) good luck as they fish in the Harman's Invitational this weekend.  They'll be representing the TroutLegend Competitive Cooperative as the first combined team effort in the cooperative's history.

I know Paul Bourcq and Kevin Lowe will also be there, fishing on behalf of Korkers.

You guys drive safe, and if you get a chance, go over and fish Blackwater Canyon.  Just be careful on your way in!

It's well worth it once you get to the bottom, however.

Thanks guys.  Just bought my WV lisc online and I am about ready to go.  Tie up some flies tonight and tomorrow and its game time.  Looks like we might fish some high water.  That should make things interesting.

we finshed a close forth with a couple of big trout getting off at the net.  A real heart breaker in the final two fly session is one I know David really wants to get back.  One of the biggest fish I had seen all weekend.  That is how it goes when it is total cm for big fish.  I am really happy with how well we did we were in the hunt from beginning to end.  I know I personally never gave up and gave it all I had.

1st placeTeam Blue Ridge Rick Queen and Barry Murphy
2nd place Team Korker Kevin Lowe and Paul Bourcq
3rd place Team Smoke Hole Josh Hedrick and Darren
Biggest Fish Barry "big stick" Murphy 55cm

Congrats to all it is really going to be a great show on Fly Rod Chronicles when it comes out.  These fish were serious fighters and there was a lot of drama between some of the teams that really will make some great TV.  Meet some good people and made some great friends.  I learned a lot that will come into play for me in future competitions.  I personally love fishing under pressure.

I spoke to Woody tonight.  He echoed sentiments posted already and really enjoyed fishing with Mark.

Congrats to Paul, Kevin, David, and Mark...sounds like it was a close one all the way to the end.

I really enjoyed fishing with Woody I learned a few tricks and flies that I am sure will come in handy.  Theey are already planing on having another one next year and maybe even trying to get better competition.  I know will be there again.
