Chernobyl Ant

Has any one ever had much luck using this fly?  I have messed around with them but I have never caught much.

It's also a great high floating, highly visible fly for hopper/dropper that will float fairly heavy flies.  When you're an old, short sighted man you need all the help you can get.

I have used them twice maybe and never really gave them much of a shot.  I guess i need to revisit them.

This fly was invented by a good friend of mine. It was originally called the Black Mamba. He started using it while guiding on the Green. After completely cleaning house on it people started asking about it and eventually the pattern got out and changed, modified and changed. Now it's called the chernobyl ant. It is an excellent off hatch searching pattern for rivers like the Green and the Snake where trout readily eat big dries. Unfortunately getting his name on the bug never happened but he has been given credit for it.
