The America cup is going back to Fipps-Mouche style tournament please see the website for rules and venues to be fished. Also we are looking for controllers for the event 1 day or all 3 days what ever you can do. This is a great chance to see some of the best in the world fish. Teams that are coming to include Australia,Japan and a Allstar team from Europe. And a few from the US. There are some spots still left.

That sounds like a blast Dave!  I'm itching to field a team, but it looks like it won't be this year.  Never really got to spend much time on those rivers when I lived in Denver.

This picture of Bret always cracks me up from when you guys had to pen up the trout and measure them at the end. Reminds me of some old pic from the 40s or something (obviously ignoring the high tech gear):

Glad to hear that they are adopting FIPS rules. Might consider coming next year, as this year doesn't work for me...

That first cup was quite an experience.  I think I lost 10 lbs running around as a controller on the Lower Ark. I learned a lot watching the Polish team fish. Also learned a lot watching all of the Team USA guys attack their beats.

The America Cup International Fly Fishing Tournament is pleased to invite you to one of the best fly fishing venues in the United States. It will be held in the picturesque Rocky Mountain town of  Frisco in Summit County Colorado. The town is located about a 1 ½ hour drive from Denver International Airport.
This year’s event takes place on September17th-19th 2010. A $1600.00 per team fee covers all registration fees, lunches each day on the 17th-19th. We will be working with lodging in Frisco to provide discounts for the teams. As we get the information and registration for your team all lodging discounts will be sent out. Deadline for registrations is April 2010.
This is a 5 person team event, the tournament will begin with full day fishing on the 17th and 18th and 1/ 2 day on the 19th. Captains meeting and drawing for beats will be held on September 16th at 7pm location to be determined. There will be 5 river sessions according to Fipps-Mouche rules. Beats will be set on each river. A valid Colorado fishing license is needed to compete which needs to be purchased by each Contestant.
The America Cup Trophy will be given to the winning team.  There will also be individual medals given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. An outdoor awards banquet will be held on the shores of Lake Dillon and will take place on the afternoon and evening of the 19th. This event will be open to the public with music and food provided.
Please send bank check or money order to The America Cup, 71 Loop drive Howard, Colorado 81233. Registration ends May 15th, 2009.
For further information about the fishing and the venue please feel free to contact Michael Drinan winner of the first America Cup at; michaeldrinan@gmail.com

Dave,

Am I reading correctly that the registration fee does not include lodging during the competition dates?

It doesn't cover the lodging this year. It covers all transportation during the event to and from the rivers, lunch and water each day, Awards dinner. We are working with local resturants and lodgers to give discounts to all teams coming to fish not just for the 3 days but before and after the cup .
