It looks like you got into your target weights with the final product.  So how do they fish?

so far so good...nice 3/4 flex, quick, and sensitive tip.  The new lighter one's are getting a work out today on some poor little 8-12 inch stockie rainbows by Bret and I on the Boise River...

I wish I was going to be going after some stockies today!  These holdovers that you are going after or freshly stocked?

I would love to get my hands on the shadow 11-4.  Pete how do you think it would handle Wets and some soft hackle work.  I'm sure with Rajeff involved it can cast some serious line as well.

Mark,
the stockies are freshly stocked a couple of days ago...so much so that bret fished for them about an hour after the truck came...and he said they were all swimming around in 5 inches of still water...he could kick them with his wading boots...LOL

Reid,
I'm shocked at how well these rods cast...I did not design them with casting in mind...I think the longer two rods will make great wetfly rods or north country spider rods...

LOL yeah the ones that are fresh of the trucks are the same way in PA.  It is not much of a challenge but sometimes it is good fun. Besides it is a great way to get a feel for how your rods are with fighting fish.

So do they stock a lot of trout out there in the winter?

Pete,

Shall I give Jamie a ring and get me some rods? :)

are the 10.5' and 11' 4-pieces or more?  Meaning--will they fit in my travel tube?  Do they have fighting butts?

Loren,

Bret and I just fished all three rods(the final productions) pretty hard this afternoon.  They are all 4 piece.  I really like the 10 1/2 footer...actually all 3 rods are pretty cool in that they fish differently.

I'm not sure when the "big" shipment is coming in to Echo up in Vancouver, WA.  You should call Jamie or Tim to ask...

I'm starting to get the feeling that these rods are going to be scarce this spring after the initial run on them...Tim says that the Echo dealers are already screaming for them...

Amazing how excited we can get about a simple little piece of graphite, eh?  Can't wait to wiggle one of these babies.

finally you guys are talking about these rods ! I saw the add for them in the new echo catalouge . im totally into checking out the four weight , the reds sides out here would just kill a three weight but would be fun Im looking for a rod that can handle wets as wet and that sounds like the perfect size .  im hoping rajeff shows up with them at the shop I go to he is supposed to be there with different rods ,im in the north west and guys out here really dont know about this style of fishing so he might not be focused on it . Ive only begun to play around with it out here . The dechutes is very deep on the upper halfo of the river in places and this style (somewhat spanish long leader )works amazing in the long drifts .

Mike,

I'm from Seattle originally, but went to school at UofO (GO DUCKS!), so I spent a ton of time fishing the Deshutes.  the 11 footer will be nice for that...it only weighs about 100 grams as well...which is a huge bonus.

call Tim or send him an email at ECHO and tell him to bring some of the rods when he comes to your area...

cheers
Pete

Mike if you go to fly fishing disciplines/gear talk/Re New echo euro nymph rods you can see we have been talking about these rodsfor awhile.  Lance started this thread for the cabelas euro rod. I believe Pete Erickson has been a major player in the Echo rod.

I didn't explain it real well. It sucks relying on my phone for the internet. It will be neat to see these rods in action.
