Tag End as Indicator
« on: June 07, 2010, 08:29:17 PM »
My first indicator is a piece of red amenisia followed by a yellow curly and then a piece of green trilene.   Anyway sometimes I have some problems with picking up the indicator rig. If I leave a little piece of the tag end of the green trilene hanging, it helps me to pick up the indicator rig.

Are you saying the little tag helps you "pick it up" off the water? I've been fiddling around with empty tags a lot, but I'm having trouble getting what you're describing.

I tie a piece of green trilene to my yellow curly.  Instead of cutting off the tag end of the green trilene at the knot, I leave about an inch or so on.  It sticks out from the leader at a 90 degree angle.  It is like a green flag that waves at me.   It helps me pick up the sighter in difficult light conditions.

It adds another visual reference point.

I'm going to give that a whirl when the rivers open up around here (July).
