My name is Marc Payne. I am a bamboo rod builder, writer, guitarist, and teach Christian related subjects. My fishing area is primarily the southeast (South Holston, Holston, GSMNP, etc.). Though I am not against other fish or styles of fishing, I have evolved into somewhat of a trout prude. If I catch another species it is by accident. I am an avid reader (Wendell Berry, Gierach, most all southern fiction). I have written three novels, a collection of short stories, and am currently at work on my fourth book. I hope to meet many friends on this forum and hope I can contribute to the conversation.

Welcome to the board Marc!

When I can find the time, I love to fish the Holston and Watauga. I also love Cattaloochee...especially in the summer.

Hopefully we can wet a line sometime.
