Hi Everyone!
« on: October 30, 2009, 03:18:06 PM »
Let me introduce myself...  My name is Chris Galvin and I live in Denver, Colorado.  I am an active fly fishing guide and competitive angler.  I mostly guide the streams of the Front Range area of Colorado, with emphasis on the South Platte drainage.

I have competed in the last three National Championships (2006, 2007, and 2009) as well as a number of regional events in between those.  I already know quite a few of you guys from the "tour", and hope to get to know many more.

Feel free to get in contact anytime...

Good to have you here man.  Looking forward to seeing some sweet Colorado-centrique Posts and Reports!

Glad to see you on Galvan.  I was in your group in the SE Qualifier.  I look forward to hearing some reports as well as thoughts and comments on comp fishing.

I have tried to camo some of my stuff like you had done to your shirts but havent been able to make them come out as bad ass as yours did.  We need a post about how to do that lol.

Yeah, the 2009 National was quite a challenge!  Wish I could have finished higher, but the experience is invaluable.  Each contest helps me discover and work on holes in my game.

I hope to contribute frequently and bring some good material to the board.

I've thought about writing an article about my method to make those camo shirts for one of the print publications, but perhaps this may be a better place for it!

I've got some photos from the Nationals I'd like to post.  Should I start a new thread or is there somewhere else to post them.  I was on the same bus as Dejon and was taking photos of each of my beats.

You could create a new thread or post em' here!  You can create personal album in the gallery and upload them there - then linking them in a forum thread is as easy as pie... or cake... I always forget how the saying goes.

Looking forward to em'! I was really to engrossed in my own big head to take many photos.

Hey Chris

Welcome to the site, I'm a Denverite myself. When I saw your name, I thought to myself, where do I know that name? It then dawned on me, you did a podcast with Tim Emery from Fish Explorer. I enjoyed your podcast, I found it very informative.

I have a quick question for you, how can I find out more about the regional competitions that we have going on in our area. I'm not to the point where I can fish in them, although I wouldn't mind it some day. I'm thinking more along the lines of possibly volunteering to help out.

Thanks,
Jeremy

The best place to find out about upcoming regional comps is right here.

Ouch!  Yes, I am allowed in Oregon, just not behind the wheel of an automobile!  ;D  I don't think I will be living that one down anytime soon...
