New Guy from Brooklyn
« on: December 08, 2009, 10:12:29 PM »
Well I'm not really from Brooklyn but I live there now and have for a little over 5 years now. I've been an avid (obsessed is how my girlfriend describes it) fly fisherman since last July and have managed a lot of time on the water since then. I fish primarily in the Catskills, the Croton Watershed, and in New Jersey and sometimes nearby streams in Connecticut. I've also done a few destination trips so far in my brief fishing career, having been to the Smokies in Tennessee and the Driftless Region in Wisconsin. I also usually bring my gear with me when I head up to visit family in New Hampshire and Ohio.

If I'm not fishing I'm usually reading about fishing, or thinking about fishing and if I'm not thinking about fishing I'm probably thinking about fly tying, which I am about to start doing once I get my vice (freudian slip?) for Christmas.

This is a fantastic board and I'm looking forward to being a member of  and contributing to this community.

Andy

Welcome to our therapy session.  I for one feel better sharing my fly fishing addiction through group therapy.

Thanks guys. Chris in response to your question, when I head out to OH I go to my mom's place in Cincinnati. It's mostly bassin' around there which I havent had much luck at yet, though the Little Miami is supposed to be pretty good for Smallies and Wipers (white bass and striper hybrid). Nex time I head out there I'm taking the car and heading over into Indiana to check out the Brookville Tailwater. Its supposed to be pretty good and I see pictures of some monster trout coming out of there but I suspect they might be some big fat breeder stockies that just roll over and wait for you to unhook them. I'll definitely be posting a report of my efforts when I make out there next.
