Arizona makes a similar dubbing to Jan's, and it's available in a good range of colors.  Great stuff, I use it in a dubbing loop all the time for one of my "guide patterns".  Check it out here ----> http://www.umpqua.com/pc-1036-46-arizona-synthetic-peacock.aspx

Chris Ill second the Arizona.  Got some on a whim from umpqua.  The pheasant tail color is killer.  The picture doesnt do it justice its very buggy and touch dubs nicely.  I use to for alot of stillwater patterns in dubbing loops.

Thanks for the compliments about the flies . Here they are.

These flies have worked for me in the Big Horn , Beaverkill , Elk River and the Farmington.

Nice use of wire and cdc there.  Wish wire bodies were comp. legal.  What hook is that?  Looks kinda like a 2499, but a different bend.

Must be the 18 - it has a bit different shape that always throws me off. I thought it was a gama for a second.  Great ties. I'm sure they are very fishy. Have you put many stream miles on them?  For some reason i haven't dabbled with the use of hot beads on midge patterns and the principal has me intrigued.  Top of my "to do fly tying list" is to hit the craft store for a glass bead run.  I think one of the biggest success factors to "other" bead colors is just the fact that they are setting that fly apart from the rest of the flies floating by all day. I was thinking that utilizing "very different" bead colors may even take that further. just a thought.

Right again it is an 18. I  use these flies extensively. I think they do best in broken water. I catch browns as well as rainbows on the hot orange pattern .The dark pattern has been working better lately. The orange pattern came in second place to Davy Wottens white tailed midge during a month of fishing on the Big Horn this suummer . I have tried some glass beads but I have not done as well as the metal beads. Maybe its the weight , maybe its me

For you saltwater boys, I ran across a new material called DNA while visiting a pike fanatic in Scotland. It is some incredible looking and feeling stuff when wet. Feels like meat!

Thank you for the mention, Alain.

Today, coincidentally, I received a shipment of goods & hooks from Fly D&K in Slovakia. I'm updating my pdf catalog this evening and will be able to forward a copy to anyone, in the next couple of days, if interested. Send a request to info@performanceflies.com and I will get one to you ASAP. Some of the materials include muskrat zonkers, good size bags of natural dark dun and natural tannish-dun CDC, CDC dubbings, Quill Body (synthetic quill material in graphite, brown, and pearl colors), caddis case dubbing, venison thorax dubbings, and dyed peacock sticks for buzzers. More Siman peacock dubbings are on the way as well. I'm also considering a new tungsten supplier who carries slotted tungsten beads. Thanks, guys.
